Ulrich Rösch
Ulrich Rösch was born in 1951, in Germany at the border to Switzerland. He studied Philosophy, Pedagogics, German Literature and Social Science.
In 1971 he became an active member of the International Cultural Centre in Achberg/Lindau, Germany, in particular at the Institute for Social Development Research. His research activity has focused mainly on alternative economic forms and the development of organisations, working for many years alongside Joseph Beuys, Wilfried Heidt, Leif Holbaek-Hanssen and Wilhelm Schmundt.
In 1976 he co-founded the Waldorf School, Wangen, in the Allgäu region, and was its principal teacher. In 1982 he established a textile company which manufactures garments using bio-dynamic cotton cultivated and grown in social projects in India.
He has lectured extensively at colleges and universities in Europe and Asia, and from 1999 has worked as a social scientist at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland. He also lectures on the "Studiengang Soziale Plastik" in Wangen/Achberg.

Ulrich became interested in the work of the SSRU through the projects Exchange Values and University of the Trees. During 2007, he worked actively with Shelley and the Exchange Values project when it was part of the Ursache Zukunft/Origin Future Congress on Human Dignity in Dornach, Switzerland.
Together with Peter Schata and Graham van Wyk, he is a member of the alternative economics research group that is developing within the SSRU framework.
