Peter Howe
Peter Howe is currently a student on the MA Socials Sculpture at Oxford Brookes.
His work is concerned with the threshold between the Self and the world: the world of nature, the world of people and the spiritual world.
He works with Doors, installation, image and word.
'The Door as barrier, blockage, not-I, what need's to break through, break down, it is what stands between me and the world. At the same time it is I myself, the way forward, the opening, letting in and letting through'.
He also works at The Glasshouse in the West Midlands, a collaborative project based in an old glass factory.
The Glasshouse is: a College for young people with educational difficulties, in which the curriculum is craft-based; a business centre for independent art and craft businesses; an Arts Centre with a studio Theatre.
Peter works with the various parts of the organisation in the practical and artistic care of the site: organising cleaning, recycling, decoration, and hosting of events.
