Norbert Schaaf was born in a small German village at the border of Switzerland in 1958. He studied Eurythmy in Vienna and taught Eurythmy in Kassel. He later studied at the Priest Seminary of the Christian Community in Stuttgart and was ordained a priest in 1991. He then moved to the community of Pforzheim.

Over the past fifteen years he has developed various actions - "Art as a group - in process " in response to the perceived need for such things in the Pforzheim community. These include the "Chair - Walk" and "Expeditions into the area of tension " which have now been performed in various cities around the world including Pforzheim, Stuttgart, Kassel, Munich, Dresden, Jaerna, New York, Chicago, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide
and Perth.

He conducts workshops and lectures about the perception of the Interspace, the expanded concept and perception of Christ. Other workshops have been held about the relationship of Perception and Meditation. Workshops about Altar - Pictures and creative attention in the religious context.

He is the author of the book "Mandorla, expedition into the Space Between" , which is about the after - imager counter - image and how Joseph Beuys, Rudolf Steiner, John Cage, Peter Handke and Paul Cela worked with it.

His new book/project, to be published in 2008 is called "Beuystime", a story around the Darmstadt "Block Beuys".
