Students

In this section Doctoral students outline their research and the way their work explores questions related to social sculpture and connective practices. All Masters students doing social sculpture are also invited to outline their work, including their reasons for doing this social sculpture programme and their post programme reflections.

MA and PhD students explore questions related to social sculpture and connective practices. The MA in Social Sculpture – running since 2004 – is a taught programme, whilst the PhD is supervision based with regular research seminars.

The MA and practiced-based PhD share an understanding of practice-led research.

There is a vibrant community of exchange amongst both MA and PhD Social Sculpture students. The MAs are welcome to attend the three or four all day Social Sculpture Fora for PhD students that take place every semester.

In some years the postgraduate students also meet regularly as a study group that includes both MAs and PhDs.

Current MAs and PhDs also come together with past students in the monthly Social Sculpture Initiatives Forum. This helps MA students to begin locating their practice in the world from early on.
